SFP-10G-ER Overview
The SFP-10G-ER is a 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver module that provides high-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity at long distances. It is designed for use with the Cisco Nexus B22 Blade Fabric Extender to enable connections between the B22 located in the blade chassis and the parent Cisco Nexus switch over long-range single-mode fiber optic cabling. The 10GBASE-ER standard supported by the SFP-10G-ER allows for connections up to 40km over fiber.
The SFP-10G-ER transceiver plugs directly into the SFP+ ports on the front of the Cisco Nexus B22. With its long reach capability, hot-swappable design, and 10Gbps throughput, it provides an optimal solution for long distance uplink connectivity from the B22 to the Cisco Nexus switch in data center deployments.
