QSFP-100G-ZR4-S Overview
The Cisco QSFP-100G-ZR4-S module is designed to support very extended 100GbE links up to 80km over duplex single-mode fiber. It uses a 4-channel 25Gbps parallel optics architecture with support for FEC on the host system.
With 80km reach, this module enables direct interconnect between very remote data centers without needing additional transport equipment. The extended distance allows flexibility to place data centers based on availability of affordable real estate and power costs.
The QSFP-100G-ZR4-S offers low power consumption in a hot-pluggable form factor. Combined with backward compatibility for 100GBASE-LR4 optics, it provides a simple and scalable long reach solution for 100GbE connectivity.
