CPAK-100G-ER4F Overview
The Cisco CPAK-100G-ER4F is a 100GBASE pluggable optic that supports links up to 40km over single-mode fiber. It delivers 100Gbps throughput by multiplexing 4 lanes of 25Gbps Ethernet traffic onto different CWDM wavelengths.
This module utilizes Cisco’s CMOS photonics technology for optical integration within the small CPAK form factor. The ER4F supports forward error correction (FEC) for extended reach. It comes with LC connectors for attaching duplex SMF.
The CPAK-100G-ER4F focuses specifically on 100GbE support, without optical transport network protocols. FEC and integrated optics help maximize the 100Gbps capacity over long distance links.
