The Cisco Catalyst 9400 Electronic Software License (C9400-LIC) enables advanced feature sets and capabilities on Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series switches by activating software feature packs.
C9400-LIC is a paperless licensing method to upgrade Cisco Catalyst 9400 switches beyond their initial software feature tier to obtain additional premium features and licensing levels. It serves both as a technology enabler and flexible software purchase option for the Cisco Catalyst 9400.
Activation
This license electronic software license is installed on the switch and linked with the switch’s unique device identifier (UDI). No physical license or paperwork is required. License activation occurs automatically for term-based licenses once added to the Cisco Smart Software Manager.
